What is the Phone Book Web Wizard?

The Phone Book Web Wizard is a streamlined way for parents to add names and numbers to Firefly's Phone Book and/or Mom and Dad call keys online.

How do I check my wireless coverage and connection?

To check for coverage, look for the rectangular bars at the upper left side of the Firefly Phone's display.

If you see fewer than four bars, your network connection could be weak and your signal may be interrupted. Test your connection again from another location. If you don't see any bars at all, you're either not in a network service area, or your coverage has been interrupted or not established.

How do I check to see if I have space in my Phone Book?

Just press the key, scroll down the list, and count the names.
The Phone Book can hold upto 20 names and numbers. You'll want to be sure you have enough space in the Phone Book for the number of names and phone numbers you'd like to add (so, for example, if you have 5 names in the Phone Book, you can add 15 new names and numbers; if you have 17 names in the Phone Book, you can add 3 new ones). If you don't have enough space in the Phone Book, you'll need to delete some names and numbers before you add new ones. Here's how:

  1. Press and hold to access the menus. Enter your PIN.
  2. Scroll to the Keys option and press OK. Press KEY until you see Phone Book and press OK.
  3. Press OPTION until you see Delete. Press OK.
  4. Scroll to the name/number you want to delete.
  5. Press DEL to delete that Phone Book entry. Press YES to confirm that you want to delete this Phone Book entry.
  6. Press BACK to return to the Keys menu.

How do I set the Firefly Phone's PIN?

Firefly Phones have password-protected access to the Phone Book and other options through a parental PIN. Here's how:

  1. Press and hold until you see Enter PIN.
  2. Press ENTER.
  3. Enter your PIN. (The default PIN can be found in the parent's manual)
    1. Press to scroll to the first number and press OK. An asterisk (*) will appear on the top line.
    2. Scroll to the next number and press OK. Repeat until you have entered your new PIN and have 4 asterisks on the top line (****).
    3. Scroll to Done and press OK. If the PIN is accepted, you'll see Change PIN.
  4. Press YES to change the PIN number.
    1. Scroll to the number and press OK. An asterisk (*) appears on the top line.
    2. Scroll to the next number and press OK. Repeat until you have entered the PIN. Make sure there are 4 asterisks (****) on the top line.
    3. Scroll to Done and press OK. Saved indicates the new PIN was accepted.

Note: If you change the default PIN, remember to save a copy of the new PIN in a secure place.

What does the Phone Full message mean on my phone?

The Phone Full message means that your Firefly Phone Book has been filled with 20 numbers and could not accept some or all of additional numbers sent to it by the Web Wizard. To update your Firefly Phone Book using the Web Wizard, you'll need to first make space by deleting some of the names and numbers that are already there.

What does the Updated Failed message on my phone mean?

The Update Failed message means the material sent from the Phone Book Web Wizard contained an error and the update was not completed. Please enter your information and try the update again.

I sent the update to my phone, but I did not receive the Update Keys message. Why?

First, check that your Firefly Phone is on and that your phone has wireless coverage (See above). If that's all ok, then there are two possibilities. First, check to make sure you have entered the IMEI correctly. Next, in rare cases, it can take a couple of hours for the update to reach your phone, so just wait two hours or so and then check again. If, after two hours you still don't receive the Update Keys message, your Web Wizard update didn't go through and you'll need to reenter the name and numbers and resend the information. Please make sure that your PIN entered on the Web Wizard matches the PIN number on the Firefly Phone.
